A Glimpse into Hattie Kelley's Scrapbook

From the scrapbook of Mrs. Hattie Kelley about “The First Annual Entertainment and Fair” in 1898

Fred Parker Ham addressed the people and also gave free use of his gramophone. The ladies worked hard, and a long fancy table was completely filled with useful and ornamental articles which found a ready sale.

"At 5:00 pm, supper was served, and over 200 people partook. The evening was spent listening to reactions by Miss Mary Wight, Miss Winnie Page, Thomas Cogswell, Jr., and others. Songs by Miss Dooley, a summer tourist, and Miss Sadie Orange. Music was furnished by Blake's Orchestra. The proceeds were about $150.00."

Volunteering
Smith Meeting House is always interested in community participation in healthcare fundraising events for the preservation of the historic site. The grounds are maintained by the executive committee and the membership, but volunteers are always welcome. Please contact us to learn more!

We Need Volunteers!

FCSG is always looking for great community volunteers. We need individuals for traffic control, assisting with food service, and other event related services.
